What to Expect from Your Margaret River Helicopter Wine Tour
When taking this helicopter flight to the stunning Margaret River region, the journey starts at Perth airport, where you'll take off and fly south along the coastline for about 45 minutes until you get to the Margaret River region.
Along the way, you'll have amazing views of areas such as Eagle Bay, Hay Shed Hill, and the entire cape. Margaret River is located south west of Perth, and the coastal flight is certainly worth it on its own.
However, the real fun starts when you land at the wineries, with the first destination being Swings & Roundabouts, where you'll get to enjoy a premium wine tasting experience in a rustic setting surrounded by vineyard views. It's one of the most popular wineries in the area thanks to its old-school charm.
The second part of the journey takes you to Amelia Park, another fan-favourite in one of Australia's premier wine regions. Here, you'll get to enjoy the cellar door with full panoramic views of the surrounding area, and here you'll get to taste its signature award-winning wines in luxury and style. If you're looking for signature experiences and you love great wine, this is a stop to make.
The third and final stop on this Margaret River wine region tour is Aravina Estate. For many, this will be the highlight of the tour, as it features a superb selection of wines to taste.
Also, this is the stop where you'll get both premium food and wine, as this stop features a gourmet lunch menu along with a wine pairing to indulge all your senses. These three locations are true hidden gems, and they are certainly worth a visit.

What's Included With Your Helicopter Tour to Margaret River?
First, you'll take off from Perth airport in a majestic helicopter that features a luxurious interior designed for comfort. These choppers have plush seating, ample legroom, and large windows so you can see everything below.
You'll also get a pilot that adds commentary along the way, along with noise-cancelling headsets so you can easily hear and communicate.
Stop 1: Swings & Roundabouts
Once you get to Margaret River, the first stop is Swings & Roundabouts, the first stop on your helicopter ride. This is a local gem nestled among the gum trees. Here, you'll find a cellar door that combines modernity with rustic charm.
This is where your wine tasting begins, with options such as crisp Semillon Sauvignon Blancs, earthy Cabernet Merlots, and their premium “Backyard Stories” range. This Mediterranean-inspired location is all about getting relaxed and sipping on some of the finest wine outside of Perth.
Stop 2: Amelia Park
The next stop on this food and wine tour is Amelia Park, otherwise known as Amelia Park wines, which is known for its signature cellar door experience and fruit-forward wines.
This is where you'll do a structured seated tasting of some of their most renowned varietals, including Chardonnays, Tempranillo, Grenache, and Shiraz.
Get lucky, and you might even get to taste something from their Museum Collection. Take note of the views at Amelia Park too, because the rolling vineyards are a sight worth seeing.
Stop 3: Aravina Estate
The third location is Aravina Estate, and here you'll get a multi-course lunch along with wine pairings.
Start with shared plates like grilled octopus, beetroot salad, or fried Aussie squid, then move into mains such as seared beef rump cap with truffle mash, blue manna crab rice, or hand-rolled ricotta cavatelli with lamb ragù. These are, of course, just some of the tasty morsels available at Aravina Estate Restaurant.
Estate wines to taste with your meal include Reserve Chardonnay or the Grenache-Tempranillo blend, along with so many more. This is the final stop of the tour, after which you'll fly back to Perth in the same luxurious and comfortable fashion as you arrived.

Margaret River is one of Australia’s best wine regions, with great vineyards, food and a coastal setting. It’s a place to unwind, taste great wine and slow down. The climate and soil here are perfect for growing grapes, especially cabernet sauvignon and chardonnay. If you like wine, this is a region to visit.
Your helicopter tour gives you a taste of what Margaret River is all about. Swings & Roundabouts is all about good wine in a relaxed environment; it’s a great place to start.

What an amazing experience!! 🚁💯‼️ 🤯 Had the privilege of flying over Sydney 🇦🇺 👀🤙🏽 What a view from up so high. Thanks Rotor One and team for making the experience so exciting and being so accommodating on this trip! Will definitely be looking you up again when I’m in Melbourne for another amazing flight over a different city 🏙!! 😉🤯🚁💯‼️

Amazing experience. I flew my wife and daughter family around Sydney Harbour on a helicopter ride. I felt safe and comfortable in the air conditioned chopper. There was a short safety briefing at the start, and the highlight was definitely seeing Sydney from above.

It was a really great experience for both of us. Big thanks to Rotor One and Ed for making it one of the best memories of our lifetime.
