Helicopter Wine Tour to St Hubert's Estate in the Yarra Valley.

Overview - Wine Tour and Winery Lunch at Hubert Estate in the Yarra Valley

Hubert Estate, founded by Charles Hubert de Castella in 1862, is one the oldest wineries you will find in the Yarra Valley. St Hubert was a champion of the Yarra Valley wine renaissance in the 1960’s and helped position the region as one of the most popular wine destinations in the world. The Yarra Valley winery has a 100 year history of producing the best cool climate wines like Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Roussanne.

The recent design-led renovation of the property by Andy Ryan and Gerry Ryan, adds a beautiful modern touch to the 100 year old winery heritage at St Hubert’s Estate in the Yarra Valley. The winery now boasts a brand new restaurant named Quarters, a state-of-the-art cellar door, a wine store named ‘Notes’ and an art gallery that is filled with aboriginal art.

Experience a 25 minute helicopter ride from Melbourne to Hubert Estate in the Yarra Valley. The scenic helicopter flight from Melbourne takes you over the green landscape of the Yarra Valley with a beautiful distant view of the Dandenong Ranges merged with the clouds. It’s a picturesque scene that can only be enjoyed from the comfort of a helicopter. As the helicopter arrives closer to the St Hubert's winery you will get a bird’s eye view of the acres of vineyards producing some of the best wine in the world for over a 100 years!

Winery Lunch Experience and Tour of St Hubert's

Enjoy a delicious winery lunch and pick the dishes from an Australian-European menu designed by Head Chef, Michael Smith. Think sizzling vegetables filled with flavour, woodfired pizza made in an Italian-made Marana pizza oven and pasta that is hand-made on site. A menu that the founder, Charles Hubert de Castella, would definitely approve of.

After enjoying an exquisite lunch at the Quarters restaurant, explore the cellar door for a wine tasting experience that includes The Stag Victoria Pinot Noir, the St Hubert’s Chardonnay and the St Huber’s Blanc de Noir.

Take a short-walk from the cellar door and you will find the Hubert's Art Gallery. Engage in a guided tour through the Art Gallery that is filled with aboriginal art and learn the stories behind the artwork of over 20 indigenous artists from around Australia, including Polly Ngale and Yannima Tommy Watson.

Immerse yourself in this unique helicopter and winery experience where you can enjoy the beautiful views of the Yarra Valley, the culinary excellence at St Hubert's and the finest wine in the Yarra Valley, produced by experienced local winemakers.

“Established in 1862 as one of the first wineries in Victoria’s Yarra Valley, St Hubert's has a long history of producing outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon and today continues to be lauded for its portfolio of cool climate wines which also include Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Roussanne”

 -  Greg Jarratt (Winemaker at St Hubert’s Winery)

Where are you located?

Rotor One is located at Hangar 7 Wirraway Rd, Essendon Fields and off-street parking is available next to our building. When you arrive look for the red door that says 'Melbourne Heli'.

Do you depart from other locations, like the City Helipad?

We depart from Essendon Airport as you have an amazing view of the Melbourne City skyline from the moment you step onto the tarmac. We can arrange helicopter pickups from regional airports including Lilydale, Coldstream, Barwon Heads, Torquay and others upon request. We unfortunately do not offer flights from the City Helipad on the Yarra River.

When should I arrive?

For a relaxed experience, please arrive 10 minutes before your booking begins.

Can bad weather prevent us from flying?

Yes, adverse weather conditions such as low cloud, fog, heavy rain or high winds may require your flight to be delayed or rescheduled. If this is the case, your pilot will contact you at least 2 hours prior to your booking time to reschedule your flight to another day/time or provide a full refund.

Google says it's going to rain. Should I reschedule?

We will make a "Fly" or "No Fly" decision on the day of your flight. If bad weather is present on the day, we'll call or SMS you at least 2 hours prior to your booking.

There's no need to contact us to reschedule based on Google or Apple's weather forecast. These forecasts often change on the day (especially in Melbourne!) and we monitor live weather data from the Bureau of Meteorology every day before we fly.

We'll do everything we can to get you flying on the day, wherever it is safe to do so

Can I use my camera or phone during flight?

Yes, we encourage you to take as many photos and videos on the ground, and in the air, as possible.

What should I wear?

Please bring a pair of sunglasses and you're welcome to wear clothing appropriate to the weather. We do recommend a wind-breaker jacket for any sunrise / doors-off flights and also when flying on our 12 Apostles tour as both experiences can be windy.

Why do I need to provide my weight?

We use this to calculate the weight and balance of the helicopter prior to flight. If you have any guests weighing over 120kg or a combined passenger weight of more than 240kg, please contact us prior to booking.

Are there age restrictions for children?

We only recommend flights for children over 4 years of age and every child must occupy their own seat and pay the full seat price.

Do I need to be double vaccinated to fly?

We encourage all our passengers to be double vaccinated to fly.

Can I bring any luggage?

Light handbags and small backpacks weighing less than 5kg can be carried. For any larger items please contact us prior to your flight.

Can I fly if I'm pregnant?

Yes, and we recommend flying prior to your third trimester.

Can I fly if I'm in a wheelchair?

Yes, our hangar is wheelchair-accessible and we warmly welcome passengers with special needs. Please contact us if you have any questions.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please see our cancellation policy for more information.

Contact us anytime on (03) 7065 1888 or concierge@rotor.one if you'd like to make changes to your booking or have any questions.

Can I reschedule my flight?

Yes, up to 48 hours before your departure time and on one occasion. We unfortunately cannot accomodate any reschedule requests with less than 48 hours notice as we make commitments to ensure your Pilot and Helicopter are reserved exclusively for you on the day.

Can I get a refund on my flight if my plans change?

Yes, up to 48 hours before your departure time. Please note there is a 10% cancellation fee for any bookings cancelled at your request.

What happens if the helicopter cannot fly due to bad weather?

Our team will call you up to 2 hours before your departure to reschedule your flight or provide a full refund.

Can I get a refund on a Gift Voucher I bought for someone?

Yes, within one month of purchase and as long as the Gift Voucher hasn't been used. Please note there is a 10% cancellation fee for any Gift Vouchers refunded within this period.

Fantastic helicopter winery tour to Yarra Valley!

What a spectacular afternoon in the Yarra Valley with Rotor One!! We flew by helicopter to the Yarra Valley to Hubert’s Estate Winery and it was fantastic. The food at Hubert’s Estate was delicious (definitely try the Octopus Skewers!) and the helicopter ride was very comfortable with amazing views. Can definitely recommend Rotor One if you’re considering a helicopter wine tour and can’t wait to fly with them again!!
