šŸš What to expect

So hereā€™s where the journey to one of Australiaā€™s most luxurious lodges begins, at Sydney Airport where youā€™ll board a private, air-conditioned helicopter with comfortable seating, leg room and huge windows so everyone gets a great view, along with noise-cancelling headphones for a calm experience as you take off.

As you lift off, youā€™ll see the Sydney CBD, the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. You fly north along the Central Coast where the cliffs meet the ocean and further inland to the green hills of the Hunter Valley. It's all about travelling in style and getting some of the best photo ops of your life.

The private helicopter lands at Tower Lodge after about an hour in the air.Upon arrival at Tower Lodge youā€™ll be greeted by a sophisticated yet warm and inviting atmosphere that matches the lodgeā€™s rustic modern design. The restaurant, led by Chef Anthony Fullerton is where youā€™ll enjoy a three course lunch.

Starters include handcrafted dishes such as crab and prawn arancini with black garlic aioli or the heirloom tomato salad with buffalo mozzarella, basil and extra virgin olive oil. If youā€™re feeling hungry, the pan fried potato gnocchi with kale, shallots and broccolini is a great option.

This is followed by the main course where you can choose masterpieces such as the signature Nioka Black Angus Beef, aged and grilled to perfection on a Mibrasa woodfire grill with a porcini mushroom jus. The Australian White Lamb Shoulder, slow braised and served with kipfler potatoes and buttered broccolini is just as decadent. Seafood lovers can enjoy the prawn and white fish cappelletti in lobster bisque.

Finish with dessert, bitter chocolate tart with pistachio gelato or traditional vanilla bean crĆØme brĆ»lĆ©e served with Pedro XimĆ©nez-soaked prunes. If you prefer a cheese course, the Hunter Valley Cheese Factory Assorted Selection includes artisanal cheeses paired with muscatels, fig paste and crackers.

After lunch you can choose to do a wine or whiskey tasting. Both are held in Tower Lodgeā€™s famous library and guided by a private wine educator.Youā€™ll taste 7 rare or vintage wines, including back vintages from the Hunter Valleyā€™s finest producers ā€“ Brokenwood, Tyrrellā€™s and Lakes Folly.

Each wine is paired with locally made cheeses or handmade chocolate bonbons to enhance its unique characteristics. Using the Le Nez du Vin aroma kit, youā€™ll also learn to identify wine by scent, so itā€™s a sensory and educational experience.

If you prefer whiskey, the Tower Whiskey Distillery has a tasting flight.

Youā€™ll sample 4 small batch single malt whiskeys, including the No. 3 Shiraz American Oak and the No. 9 Fortified French Oak. A host will guide you through the whiskey-making process and tell the story behind Tower Lodgeā€™s exclusive whiskeys.
